Come study in Wellington! Wellington is home to Victoria University, the best university in New Zealand for research quality. If you need to get NZ university entrance, you can do a foundation course at ACG Education and get guaranteed acceptance into Victoria. Two other universities, The University of Otago and Massey University, also have a campus in Wellington. Between these three universities, there are university courses in many different fields of study - such as architecture, psychology and IT.

Wellington has been titled “The Coolest Little Capital in the World” by the Lonely Planet guidebook. In 2017, Deutsche Bank named Wellington the best city in the world to live in and in 2019 ranked Wellington the second highest quality of life in the world for low pollution and short commutes. Wellington has also been ranked one of the safest cities in the world by the Mercer Quality of Life Survey.

Wellington city centre is compact and you can easily walk around with no hassle. All Victoria University campuses are within 15 minutes’ walk to downtown Wellington, where you can take a walk along the beautiful Wellington waterfront. It’s also easy to catch public transport with a great bus and train network. You can also choose to bike around Wellington with lots of biking and walking tracks.

culinary and cultural capital of nz

Wellington is a diverse and exciting city, with around 25% of “Wellingtonians” (people who call Wellington home) having come from overseas. This makes Wellington a lively city with a brilliant mix of cultures and cuisines. Wellington has more restaurants, cafes and bars per capita than New York City! Wellington is also known as the cultural capital of New Zealand and plays host to lots of events and festivals throughout the year.

Known as the “The Middle of Middle Earth”, Wellington is the filmmaking hub of NZ where many huge movies have been made. The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Hobbit, Avatar, The Adventures of Tintin and lots more have all been filmed or created in some part by the filmmaking talent in Wellington.
